My Tryst with FACEBOOK
(uncut version)
Hye Folks! :) I stand before you all to share my feelings, experiences and my Tryst with FaceBook.
There are people who swear by it, some condemn it (on FaceBook itself hahahah!) As for me? Yeah? Well for me it's been a journey, it was a long and lonely road so I decided to go on and on like a gypsy, sometimes trekking, hitch-hiking, and even flying, in terms of experiences. I divide my journey on the FB road into three categories:
1. Meetha
2. Chatpata
3. Atpata
1. Meetha being, of course, my reconnecting with my childhood buddies, whom I could never ever hope to ever see let alone talk. The nostalic memories that came swirling back as we all remembered decades ago. The school days, games, functions, most of all our beloved teachers. So sweet is the memories that there were school mates who could never muster up enough courage to come talk to me, now together we laughed about it. Memories of school days just remain in our hearts forever, for those times are the ones that often experience a series of 'First Times'. Our education, interraction, competition, friendship, crush and many more that I can't think of yet, maybe you could add up to the list.
Another Meetha experience was when I started uploading my paintings, achievements, rewards and awards. I can never thank my friends who liked my uploads inspiring me with encouraging comments. I got in plenty students who were looking for a Guru like me, even got quite a few painting commission jobs that boosted up my Art Studio, soon I started a new page at FB called CHITRAKUTIR ART SCHOOL AND STUDIO.
2. The Chatpata feature of FB is that we get such wonderful updates from people all over the world. News, Recipes, grievances, funny videos, informative videos and some real creative work and videos by people who never get a chance to display their talent. Many of the young amateur artistes have been able to gain tremendous popularity and have been contacted by the Bollywood Mesihas.
Funny is that there are many who step into FaceBook, without a face or even with faces of their favorite celebs as their profile pics.
Another aspect I never understood of the posting of religious pictures with the lines saying, "like it in 2 seconds and something nice will happen", Duh! Come on Guys? Bribing?
If Gods were to be scanning everyones status making sure all liked his posts, where would the ones not on FB would be?
Then to make matters worse they write, " If you dont share, something bad will happen!" Yikes!!!! Now they pull Gods down to their level. Its really irksome.
3. The most serious and worth concern is the Atpata aspect here. Earlier the youth was so much into Yahoo chat rooms, that supported heavy chatting with almost anyone around the globe. Hence as expected there were lots of complications. Sometimes things got out of hand and hearts were broken as young vulnerable senti minds got side- tracked and were dazzled by lots of lies that were handed out to them by devious Contriving miscreants. Then as I was saying after the Yahoo chat rooms practically closed down, the young crowd rushed to FB, then began a series of messaging where anyone could go through the best looker profiles and start directly messaging. I know all this because I have always been the happy target of these over enthusiastic young bucks because of my status that shows 'single'. There were dangerous messages too, from overseas, untill I got so fed up that I created a page called, SINGLE DON'T MEAN AVAILABLE. Hahahahah! The first message I usually get is, " Hi Beautifuls! Wassup!", which I ignored, then came the next question, " madm are you Mareeed?" Wow! What in the world was that word? It was much later when the realization hit me! The word 'mareeed' meant 'married' hahahahha!
Today if your'e not on FB, people look at you as though you come from the Planet of the Apes (old version).
Its like a status symbol :) so much so that, I have even heard some smart Alec man say, "Wife k bina chalega lekin Wifi k bina......" Hahahah!
In retalliation I jokingly wish to retort..... "FB is similar to men, can't live with them and cant live without them".
